What’s in a name?
As Wales’ Welsh-language national theatre, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru travel the length and breadth of Wales and beyond, bringing their innovative productions to communities across the country. That’s why when it came to their website address, .cymru was the obvious domain for them: it’s a part of their name!
Lowri Johnston, Head of Marketing at Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru explains why theatr.cymru was the perfect domain for them; “The .cymru domain has been very important to us as a business because Cymru is part of our name. We’re a national company and it’s important that we show that we work across the country and with communities across Wales.”
Like most businesses adopting .cymru and .wales addresses, their website is often the most important link between them and their customers and the Welsh domain lets the customer know where they’re from.
“Having an online presence was very important to us. Like every business, that’s how we reach varied audiences in all parts of Wales and beyond Wales and it’s a shop window showing our business and what we have to offer. I think it’s important that businesses that are based here in Wales show where they’re from, from the start but also to represent the customers they service.”
