CRWST was created in 2018 by Catrin Parry Jones and Osian Wyn Jones.
CRWST produces quality food and drink using the best of local produce and served to the highest level of friendly service. Providing brunch, coffee, sweet treats, and fresh bread made from its very own off-site bakery, the team are delighted to offer a modern experience to the traditional town of Cardigan.
With a passion for all things food, Catrin and Osian started CRWST because they wanted to bring something special to their hometown for the whole community to enjoy.
And it’s not just bread that the team are passionate about. It was especially important to them to showcase that they’re proud of their Welsh heritage, which is exactly why they decided to secure their very own .cymru domain name – crwst.cymru.
“We wanted to emphasise that we are a Welsh business, especially being first language Welsh speakers”, says Catrin Parry Jones, Co-Director, CRWST.
Like many others that choose to adopt a .cymru or .wales domain name, it allows a business to immediately communicate the message to customers that it’s a Welsh brand. This enhances its reputation as a patriotic company that cares about Welsh identity, culture and language.
Adapting through COVID-19
Being a cafe, CRWST was forced to close for almost six months due to COVID-19.
In order to keep the brand and business alive during this challenging time, the team got innovative. They decided to launch an online shop using their .cymru domain, selling a variety of produce, fresh bakes and baking kits to all over the UK. The plan was a success and demand for delicious CRWST goods delivered straight to the door of customers has continued ever since.
CRWST Chef, Osian, was also titled Wales’ ‘Bread Hero’ 2020 for his contribution to the community during COVID-19.
